Someday
Very few people take immediate action on what they desire to have or obtain, because most live in “someday.” “Someday I will do this or that.” James 4:13-16 gives us strict instructions about “someday.”
“13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.”
Truth is, we don’t know if we will have another day, so let’s start working on “someday” today! Your first step in starting “someday” should be prayer. Ask God for clarity and direction. Whatever you do, never make a decision without clarity. To act without God’s direction is to basically play God. I don’t know about you, but anytime I try to play God, I lose!
God blesses you with a peace of heart and mind. That’s the clarity you are praying for, and that’s the time to take action. God speaks to us through people, the Bible, and life experiences, so make sure you are listening intently.
Let’s make today our “someday”!!!
Application:
1. Read James 4:13-16
2. If you could do anything, with anyone, anywhere, what would “someday” look like?
