In yesterday’s devotional we read Jesus’ teaching in Matthew chapter 9:12-13 instructing us to help the those lacking a relationship with Jesus Christ. Versus 12-13 say, “ 12On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
I do my best to find the good in people, so when Christ calls us to seek out the sinners so they may hear the words of Christ, how do we do that without finding the bad in people? I believe the answer is simple: see how great of an impact someone will have in the world once they rid themselves of the negative qualities that hold them back. In other words, see what others don’t. While someone may appear to be full of negative qualities, see beyond the external and remember we are all children of God in need of redemption. Do all you can to pull out the best in people. It’s going to take a lot of patience and work, but think about the generations of people in their family alone you could be making a major impact on just by helping one person!
Application:
1. Read Matthew chapter 9 versus 1-13
2. Make time to change lives
