I don’t know about you, but for me I certainly struggle at times with whether or not I’m making an impact. For example, I spoke to a group of kids over a month ago about why I coach baseball, etc. and how Christ is the reason I do what I do. The audience was a group of baseball players, and after the message you never really know if anything sunk in or not. I mentioned my pre-salvation days, and how my relationship with Christ has grown over the years. I basically pulled back the curtains and let this group of young men see the life of Logan Stout from childhood to today.
Long story short, I received an email from one of the kid’s parents recently telling me how she had a conversation until 5 in the morning with her son about the message I gave! As I read her email, I couldn’t help but tear up (in a good way) by her response. She informed me about the struggles her family and son have been through over the past few years, and how the testimony of my life really made an impact on her son. The purpose of this story isn’t to bring any type of credit to me in any way; it’s simply to encourage those of you that are doing the right things for the right reasons to stick with it! You are going to make mistakes along the way, I know I do all the time, but whatever you do, never underestimate the power of your actions. Stay bold for the truth and the truth shall set you free!
Application:
1. When you feel underappreciated, stay focused on the one person you should aim to please at all times, God. You will have your reward when it’s time!
